Message from the Founder
I used to view yoga as just a form of physical exercise. I thought that if I were to practice yoga, I could become stronger and more flexible, so that I would be able to do all those beautiful poses I see on Instagram and social media. However, the more I practiced yoga, the less I obsessed over the poses. Instead, I found appreciation in being able to better understand myself (my body, my breath, and my mental state) during each practice.
Yoga allows me to slow down from the busy world outside, so that I can tune in with myself each day. It shows me my physical limitations, and it humbles me. It teaches me to be grateful for what I can do and what I can achieve through consistent practice. It allows me to be compassionate to myself, so that I may be compassionate to others. Ultimately, my yoga practice becomes a time for self-reflection so that I can be a better version of myself.
I hope that SIVA can create a community where people will be able to share their experiences with yoga, and that this will transcend into beautiful connections beyond the studio space.

Background
Oliver began his yoga journey in 2021 after spending four years weightlifting, which left him with tight hamstrings and restricted shoulder mobility. He fell in love with Ashtanga’s dynamic blend of strength and flexibility, finding it to be a transformative practice that helped restore mobility and balance to his body.
Inspired by his own growth on the mat, Oliver pursued his 200-hour RYT certification through Aligned Yoga, under the guidance of Briohny Smyth, a world-renowned teacher known for her empowering Vinyasa flows. Through this training, he deepened his understanding of human anatomy and sequencing classes in a way that is accessible to yogis of all levels.
Oliver is passionate about helping students discover their full range of abilities in his classes and integrating yoga into all aspects of their lives outside the mat.
Oliver as an enthusiast Ashtanga practitioners, yet his classes are known for his serene, yet hype and pump energy, where students are encouraged to build strength over consistency practise. His ability to cue allow students to understand that whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, Oliver's classes aim to create a warm and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable to grow, challenge themselves, and evolve.
